Privacy policy

What personal data Turka Technologies Private Limited collects when you use this site, why, who else sees it, and how to ask us to change or delete it.

What we collect

  • Your account: your name, email address and mobile number, your password, and when you last signed in. We keep the password only in a one-way scrambled form that nobody, including us, can read back.
  • Your consent: which version of each of our policies you accepted and when, and whether you allowed visit analytics at the same time.
  • If you sign in with Google: your Google account ID, name and email address. We ask Google for nothing else, and we never see your Google password.
  • Your orders: the delivery name, phone number, address and pincode, what you bought and what you paid, the courier and tracking details, and any reason you give for a cancellation or return. We fill in the city and state from the pincode. We save the address from your latest checkout so the next one is filled in for you.
  • Payments: Razorpay collects your card, UPI or bank details, and we never see or store them. We keep Razorpay's payment reference, the kind of payment (such as UPI or card), the amount, and whether it succeeded or why it failed.
  • Support and returns: the messages and photos you send us. We store photos as you upload them, including any location data your camera added, so you may want to turn that off first. If we refund a cash-on-delivery order, we keep the UPI ID or bank details you give us for it and the transfer reference.
  • Technical details: your IP address, for up to about 30 minutes, to limit repeated sign-in attempts, and the browser you signed in from. If you turn on notifications, we keep the address your browser gives us to deliver them.
  • Visit analytics: which pages and products you view, what you add to or remove from your cart, and when you start checkout or payment. Each event is tied to a random ID your browser keeps, never to your name, email or account. We also record the kind of device, the site or campaign link that brought you here, whether you were signed in, and sometimes the approximate state and city your IP address points to. We don't store the IP address itself.
  • The mailing list: if you join it from the footer, your email address, the page you signed up on, and your browser type.
  • We don't ask for your date of birth. We don't use third-party analytics or advertising tools, and we don't show ads.

Why we use it

  • To run your account and keep it secure.
  • To take your order and payment, deliver it, and handle cancellations, returns and refunds.
  • To send you emails about your account and orders: sign-in codes, order confirmations, shipping and delivery updates, refunds, and replies to your support tickets. We send marketing emails only to addresses on our mailing list, and we haven't sent any yet.
  • To answer you when you write to us.
  • To see how the shop is used, from visit analytics, so we can improve it.
  • To prevent fraud and abuse, and to keep the records that tax and accounting law require.
  • You agree to this when you create an account. Where the law lets us use your data without separate consent, such as to deliver an order you placed or to keep tax records, we rely on that.

Who we share it with

  • Razorpay, to take your payment. It receives your name, email and phone number, and with the order its number, your city, state and pincode, the items and the total. It does not receive your street address.
  • Delhivery, the courier that delivers your parcel and usually collects a return. It receives your name, delivery address and phone number, and the items and their value.
  • Resend, which sends our emails.
  • Amazon Web Services, which stores product images and the photos you send us, in India (Mumbai).
  • MongoDB Atlas, which hosts our database in Singapore, and the company that hosts our web server.
  • Google, if you choose to sign in with Google.
  • India Post's pincode directory, which receives only the pincode you type.
  • Your browser's notification service, if you turn notifications on. It carries a short notice that a ticket has changed, never the message itself.
  • Government authorities, when the law requires us to.
  • We don't sell your data or share it with advertisers.

Cookies and browser storage

  • We set only the cookies that sign-in needs: one keeps you signed in for up to 30 days, and two short-lived ones carry a sign-in code or a Google sign-in while it is in progress.
  • Your browser keeps your cart, your light or dark theme, and whether you dismissed the notifications prompt. While you check out, it keeps what you have typed until you close the tab.
  • For visit analytics your browser keeps a random visitor ID and the current visit. When you create an account, or accept an updated policy, we ask whether you allow visit analytics, and turn them off on that device if you don't. Use "Turn off analytics" in the footer to stop them at any time. If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, we record nothing.
  • Razorpay's payment window is Razorpay's own page and may set its own cookies under Razorpay's privacy policy.

How long we keep it

  • Your account, saved address and support tickets: until you ask us to delete them.
  • Orders, payments, refunds and shipping records: for as long as tax and accounting law requires, which can be up to eight years. We keep these even after an account is deleted.
  • Visit analytics: 400 days, then deleted automatically.
  • Your mailing-list address: until you ask us to remove it.
  • A signed-in session ends after 30 days or when you sign out. Sign-in codes are deleted within about 20 minutes, and IP addresses within about 30 minutes.

Your rights

  • You can ask us for a summary of the data we hold about you and who we have shared it with, to correct or complete it, or to delete it. You can also withdraw your consent, and name someone to act for you if you die or can't act yourself.
  • The site doesn't have buttons for these yet. Write to support@dewpoint.in from the email address on your account, and we will reply within the times given under "Contact and complaints" below.
  • When we delete an account we remove your profile, saved address, support tickets and photos, and notification settings. We keep order and payment records for as long as the law requires, and we can't take new orders from an account that has been deleted.
  • If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

Keeping it safe

  • The site uses HTTPS. Passwords, sign-in codes and session keys are stored only in scrambled form, and repeated sign-in attempts are limited.
  • Our team can see order and support details, because they need them to pack, ship and answer you. They can't see card or UPI details, because we never have them.
  • No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your data, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.

Children

  • This site is for people aged 18 or over. If we learn that an account belongs to someone younger, we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

  • When we change this policy we update the date at the top and ask you to accept the new version the next time you use your account. If a change affects how we use data you have already given us, we will email account holders first.
